Our Doctors and Medical Staff

Dr. Ann Elizabeth Watwood believes in increasing the beauty of the skin from the inside as well as the outside. Dr. Watwood is certified in laser skin therapies and injectibles such as Juvederm, Perlane and Botox. Dr. Watwood also specializes in women’s health, weight loss assistance, menopause management, and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.

Prior to coming to Derma Health Institute, Dr. Watwood specialized in anti-aging medicine at the Insight Energy Medicine Center in Mesa. Dr. Watwood graduated with a B.S. in Pre-Med at Arizona State University, Magna Cum Laude, and received her Medical Degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences.

Dr. Karlee Heffner is the Medical Director of Derma Health Institute of Paradise Valley. She is passionate about aesthetics, weight loss and women’s health. She believes in the philosophy of non-surgical cosmetic treatments to help patients look as good as they feel. Certified in Botox, facial fillers and skin rejuvenation lasers, Dr. Heffner has the skills and the training to make every patient the best they can be. Dr. Heffner has a staff of five; including registered nurses, laser clinicians and aestheticians.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Arizona State University with a BS degree in Biology and earned her medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Dr. Heffner is a member of the Naturopathic Physicians Board of Aesthetic Medicine in the State of Arizona.

Dr. Veronica Boyer is the Medical Director of Derma Health Institute of Mesa. She has dedicated her career to aesthetic medicine, specializing in perfect skin care for the face and body. Dr. Boyer has completed thousands of hours in lasers and non-surgical cosmetic treatments as well as taught many physicians in aesthetic procedures over the years. She is a champion of women being the best they can be. Her priorities are to the safety of her patients and achieving the results they desire. Her clinic has an impeccable safety record. She has a staff of seven; including a board certified medical doctor, registered nurse, laser clinicians and aestheticians.

She is an adjunct faculty at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in minor surgery and emergency medicine. She also has advanced training in neurotoxin (Botox cosmetic) and dermal fillers in both Canada and the United States. Dr. Boyer is a specialist in Aesthetic Medicine and is a founding member of the Naturopathic Board of Aesthetic Medicine in the State of Arizona.

Dr. Amy O’Hara has dedicated her career to aesthetic medicine, specializing in skin care for the face and body during the past decade. She believes in the philosophy of non-surgical cosmetic treatments to help patients look as good as they feel. Her priorities are to the safety of her patients and achieving the results they desire. Her clinic has an impeccable safety record. She is certified as a specialist in Aesthetic Medicine by her medical board and is a founding member of the Naturopathic Board of Aesthetic Medicine in the State of Arizona.

Dr. O’Hara earned her BA in psychology from Kalamazoo College and her medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine. Prior to her career in aesthetics, Dr. O’Hara was in private practice as a family physician.

Dr. Shannon York has a passion for aesthetics and a love for making her patients feel as good as they look. Dr. York oversees a staff of nurses, laser clinicians and aestheticians at Derma Health Institute in Chandler. With more than 5,000 patients in the clinic, she is continually complimented on her wealth of knowledge and bedside manner. Dr. York's practice includes not only Botox and Juvederm injectables, but also laser resurfacing, skin tightening, body contouring and cellulite remove, sun damage removal, laser vein and hair removal and weight-loss and nutrition counseling. Dr. York carries top of the line lasers for every procedure and emphasizes safety and results with her staff and patients. Dr. York earned her Bachelors degree from Pacific Lutheran University and her medical degree from Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine.


Kim Moffo, RN, MSN, received her B.S. and Masters degree in nursing from Indiana University. Prior to joining our team she owned and worked with her husband Dominic Moffo MD at a busy and highly successful medical laser skin care clinic in the Northwest Valley. She is a certified trainer by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency and co-founded one the first schools in the valley accredited by the ARRA. She also has extensive experience and training in Botox and dermal fillers. She teaches and trains regularly for Cutera, Allergan, the makers of Botox & Juvederm, and the National Laser Institute in Scottsdale. She has trained numerous clinicians throughout the valley. She was on the Medical Advisory Board for Your Health Magazine and currently is a Clinical Advisor for the National Laser Institute. Prior to working in the medical aesthetic field she worked in emergency medicine, public health and was a Clinical Professor at the Purdue University School of Nursing.

Heather Quest is a certified laser skin care clinician and aesthetician and has been in the aesthetics industry for more than 20 years. Heather has thousands of hours of hands-on experience in medical laser skin care and aesthetic services. Heather prides herself in customer service and her extensive experience in this industry. She has a passion for educating individuals about the laser skin care industry and what treatments will best address their concerns. Heather is a certified medial laser technician through the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency and certified by the Arizona Board of Cosmetology in aesthetics. She received her B.S. from Northern Arizona University and received her aesthetics schooling from the Kar Che Professional Career Center. Prior to her tenure at Derma Health Institute, Heather was part of two successful aesthetic practices in Tempe and again in Phoenix.

Stephanie Betts has been in medical skin care aesthetics for over six years with thousands of hours of laser and skin-care experience.  She has been with Derma Health Institute, one of the busiest clinics in the state,  since it first opened in 2004. She has extensive experience treating every skin type and tone and knows first hand what each treatment entails.  Stephanie specializes in laser hair removal for all skin types from the darkest skin types to the lightest.  She is a licensed Aesthetician and laser clinician in the state of Arizona and contiually attends educational events in the skin-care industry to keep her knowledge fresh and on the cutting edge.

Jamie Hendrix-Swope has been with Derma Health Institute for many years and is a board certified laser skin care clinician and aesthetician. She graduated from the National Laser Institute where she received her medical laser certification and graduated from the Arizona Skin & Make-up Institute. She is board certified by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency and the Arizona Board of Cosmetology.

Hayley Powers is a licensed aesthetician and laser technician with over 6,000 hours of practical experience.  She loves to combine her knowledge of medical aesthetics with her passion to help people feel and look their best.  She attended the National Aesthetics Institute and is Laser certified by the Arizona Radiation Regulatory Agency. Hayley is currently working towards a nursing degree and attends regular advanced aesthetics and laser trainings to keep on top of the latest technologies and developments in her field.

Alison Moffo, RN, has over 23 years of experience as a nurse and thousands of hours in Botox, fillers, chemical peels and skin rejuvenation laser treatments. She is a national trainer for Cutera, one of the largest aesthetic laser companies in the world as well as a national supplier of fractional resurfacing lasers. Alison is also a trainer for Allergan, the makers of Botox. Prior to coming to Derma Health Institute, Alison owned her own successful medical aesthetic clinic for over 5 years and operates a laser certification school. Alison has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon College and is a member of the AAMEP, American Academy of Medial Esthetic Professionals.

Micaela Delaforce, RN, has been in medical aesthetics for over 5 years. She is a certified national trainer for Allergan, the makers of Botox and Juvederm fillers, and has trained many physicians and nurses in the Phoenix area in this field. She is caring and passionate about helping women be the best they can be and is a certified laser clinician in the state of Arizona. Micaela has a nursing degree from Gateway Community College. She is also an Advanced Trauma and Advanced Burn Life Support Certified Nurse.
