Does it really work? Is it safe? Is it a miracle or hype? Dr. Oz investigates both sides of the HCG diet. Imagine losing a pound a day and never feeling hungry. Those that have had success with it believe it’s the long-awaited miracle cure for weight loss. Is the HCG diet safe or too good to be true?

Dr. Oz Says HCG Diet is Worth Trying -- But Only With Real HCG and Doctor SupervisionAfter the investigation, Doctor Oz concluded that the HCG diet is worth trying. He said:

  • I would not buy HCG supplements at the drug store. I wouldn't buy them at the vitamin store and I would not buy them online. There's no way to know what'e really in them. I don't want you to waste your money. Period.
  • I would never restrict calories below 1200 calories per day without a doctor getting involved. I do think with a doctor's supervision, there are some rational reasons to do that.
  • By researching HCG -- and this is what I'm excited about -- we might find new ways to help millions of people who do not have another solution to find an option. And for that reason, I think it's worth investigating.
  • It's easy to buy products claiming to contain HCG -- over the counter and online -- though many have little or no trace of the hormone. The most concentrated dose must be prescribed by your doctor.
